The Jewel: A Romance of Fairyland

The Jewel: A Romance of Fairyland, written and illustrated by Rockwell Kent, in this posthumous, facsimile edition. The Baxter Society of Portland, Maine published this two volume set in 1990, from the now lost original manuscript of November 6th, 1917.  One book is the facsimile edition, of 500 numbered copies (100 “Benefactor Copies” were signed by Kent’s widow, Sally Kent Gorton), of which this is #271, in an enlarged format; the second book is a companion booklet to the facsimile edition with a preface by Sally Kent Gorton and commentary by Eliot Stanley. The latter publication contains several illustrations.
