Still Life with Fruit, oil on canvas. 7 by 9 1/2 inches. Signed and dated somewhat indiscernibly, “J. M. G. 1876.”Appears to be in original period frame. Stretcher bars appear to be homemade.

Whomever painted this still life they apparently were academically trained, as we see by the attention to form, lighting, and overall composition.
