Miss Porter was head mistress at a ladies academy in Cazenovia, NY in the 1850s, when this painting was made.. She Married Wesley Mott in 1869. they came westward to Winchester, Wisconsin to make their home. Harriet Porter Mott was Marion Mott Wauda’s paternal grandmother. March 23, 1985.”
