Art, Folk Art, Sold

This still life with a decorative pitcher and cut glass bowl is an oil on canvas that was probably painted during the mid 19th century. It depicts various fruits, including a peeled banana and orange, on a wood table that shows two chunks cut out of its center. The artist is unknown: it is unsigned.

The canvas measures 17″ by 21″, and framed, 18 7/8″ by 23 1/4″. There is minor paint loss in the top, right of center; and some craquelure along the bottom. The writing on the back of the frame suggests that it was cut down. The canvas is structurally sound. Minor loss of paint near top center. Some craquelure.
