Springfield 45-70 Trapdoor, with a Model 1884 stamp.

32 5/8 inch barrel secured with two bands. Highly stamped throughout the piece, including: the serial number “56680” by the hammer; “U. S.” markings in the lock and butt plates; a “U. R.” stamp in the bottom of the wood stock; an inspector’s stamp on the left side of the stock; breechblock marking “1884”; numerous single initials. (Conversion?)
