Election of 1888––Republican candidates Benjamin Harrison, (president) and Levi Morton (vice president) won over incumbents President Grover Cleveland and Vice President Allen Thurman, not by popular votes but by electoral votes.

Kepi and ribbon are made primarily of silk, with tassel and sequin adornments. The buttons on the kepi read “Republican Club”, with an eagle image filling out the center. The lead backed brass buttons have no markings. A paper label, pinned within the kepi, reads “Harrison & Morton/Republican Club/kepi & badge”.

Condition: Very good. Some staining to the top, white part of the red, white and blue kepi.
