Leather. Rims supported with wood band interiors; handles supported with rope interiors, with metal rings attaching the handles to the buckets.
Painted script is faint: it appears to read as follows: “Norcross/I.T.S./1800.” On the verso, parallel to the seam line, is stamped (repeatedly): “C. Lincoln.” Circa early 1800s. Leather: painted label with floral decoration.
Approximately 13 inches high, to rim; 5 1/2 inches diameter at base, 8 inches diameter at top.
