Personals or document box. Dome-top, brass tacked, leather covered box, with the initials “O.A.”; forged iron handles. Early 19th century. Interior is lined with pages from the “Congressional Globe”–of western New York State. Most of the visible dates include June and July of 1817. Mention is made of Governor DeWitt Clinton and Lieutenant Governor John Tayler; and the communities of Auburn and Aurora (Cayuga County), and Warren (Trumbull County).
