Item Details

A well preserved (heavy) brass chestnut roaster of the 18th or very early 19th century. Possibly English or Dutch in origin. The piece measures approximately 16 1/2 inches in total length, while the body of the roaster measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter and 1 5/8 inches deep.

Overall the condition is very good, though it appears that the bottom two rivets on the hinge have been replaced–bright copper in color–sometime during its service.
