This 19th century bird resting on a rose bush, set within a much larger wreath of flowers, was created using the pin-prick method. The piece, made on one sheet of paper, measures approximately 13 3/4 by 18 inches.

The paper maker’s stamp, seen in the upper right hand corner, reads, in part, “…TOLBOARD,” (Bristol Board?) and depicts an English (?) crown.

There is minor soiling throughout and slight tears around the edges. (UEX-MH)
