Item Details

“A. H. Kindig No. 3. 1862,” with a horse motif. Possibly used as a salvage or grain bag. A salvage bag was used to gather up personal items from the home in the advent of fire. The grain bag would hold grain for horses or cattle. Due to its extended length–52″ (by 21″ wide)–it seems more likely that this is a salvage bag.
