The head is hollow bodied, is made of chalk or plaster, and measures approximately 10 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches at its widest. There is no maker’s stamp.
The literature includes five Phrenological Almanacs, dating 1843, ’44, ’45’, 46′ and 1847, which were written by L.N. Fowler and O.S. & L.N. Fowler. Another publication, “How to Read Character: With a Descriptive Chart,” was published by Samuel R. Wells, of New York (1872).
