Inuit Doll with Removable Anorak

Simple whale bone carving covered in a (removable) costume made of rodent hide and seal skin. Folklore suggests that a child would not be able to play with a doll such as this until hunting season began, for fear that frivolous play would deter a healthy migration of animals away from the community and therefore decrease available game.

Approximately 6 inches.
