Art, Folk Art

Grain painted with the initials “L.A.W.” painted on the lid. The box is dovetailed. A crossed ribbon is tacked to the inside cover, presumably to hold papers.

A label (somewhat indiscernible) stored in the box reads: “This trunk was made by my father G. W. Weller [Wells?] for his sister … when she was 10 years old consequently is 78 years old. [signed] H. A. Paul.”

The box measures approximately 15 1/8 inches wide by 8 3/4 inches high, by 8 1/2 inches deep.
